Incident Response

The BlackCloak Security Operations Center is blocking malware 24/7/365. Our threat intelligence analysts will notify members of any potential breach as quickly as the severity of the threat warrants. They will work with members to determine the scope of the incident, information that may have been impacted, perform remediation steps to eliminate the threat, and restore a secure device.

Concierge Assistance

The BlackCloak Concierge Team provides white-glove client service via email and phone-based customer support. Team members are available to answer your cybersecurity, privacy, and identity theft questions; provide advice and guidance on best practices; and troubleshoot issues with any BlackCloak software. Examples of assistance include phishing email review, SIM card review, router security review, and VPN recommendations, among many other topics. The Concierge Team is available Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. ET. with additional availability for Principal Plan members on Saturday – Sunday from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. ET. Time-sensitive support is available on holidays upon request. Privacy Cloak receives Email Support Only.

Home Network Scan

BlackCloak will scan a member’s home network for devices that are accessible to the Internet (e.g., security cameras, home automation system, routers, etc.).

VPN

BlackCloak will provide a VPN application for each adult to use on Covered Devices to secure network communications on untrusted networks.

Device Protection & Monitoring

BlackCloak will do all of the following remotely:

  • Install cyber security monitoring software on Covered Devices
  • Provide an initial assessment of Covered Devices
  • Continuously monitor Covered Devices
  • Attempt to remove any known quantifiable threats that are detected
  • Remediate as much as possible any damage caused by known quantifiable threats
  • Provide guidance to your device manufacturer in the event damage has occurred
Deep/Dark Web Scan

Using email addresses members provide, the BlackCloak team will continuously scan the Deep/Dark web to find exposed passwords for any accounts associated with those email addresses.

Deception***

By creating a fake service (often called a honeypot) within the BlackCloak application, the team will get immediate alerts when it is scanned forewarning us that someone is trying to access a member’s data. Plus, the fake service will act as a distraction from the real data.

Device Privacy Hardening

BlackCloak will review and suggest changes to your privacy, security, tracking, and other settings on each of your Covered Devices.

Dual-Factor Authentication Training***

BlackCloak will provide training sessions for dual-factor authentication set-up on member email, bank accounts, and social media that natively offer such a solution.

Credit Monitoring, Identity Theft Protection & Identity Theft Insurance* ***

Through Experian IDNotify™, we provide identity theft monitoring, credit monitoring and up to $1 million dollars of identity theft insurance, where available by jurisdiction.** You may also have Child Monitoring under your account, which includes dark web monitoring, social security number trace, identity theft insurance of up to $1M, and social media account monitoring for your children. You will need to pass a one-time guardianship verification process to receive alert content for your children.

Personal Information Removal from Data Brokers

The BlackCloak team will file opt-out requests to the top Internet data broker websites that host a member’s personal information. For a list of sites covered, please visit blackcloak.io/data-removal.
