It's a small, private group of people that a BlackCloak Member chooses to connect with in the app. Once you're connected, either of you can confirm that a call, message, or other communication is genuine. You were sent an invitation because they want a reliable way to prove who you are when you get in touch.
When a call or a text is sent or received between you and your contact, to be sure it's genuine, the app is used to send an authentication request. If it is real, the sender will confirm it via the BlackCloak app. If they don't confirm, you know not to act.
Yes. The person who invited you covers this. You'll never be asked to pay, and there's no upgrade prompt or trial that expires.
No. You get a free version of the app that lets you send and receive authentication requests with the people who've connected with you. Nothing else is required.

BlackCloak doesn't collect or store your facial or fingerprint data. The app relies on the unlock method already set up on your phone, in the same way your banking app does. If you allow it, the app shares your general location at city and state level, and only while the app is open. No. It sits outside your conversations rather than inside them. You choose when to send a request, and the app only handles that request and its response.
